Dalyko tikslas – supažindinti su matematinės analizės pagrindais: skaičių eilutėmis, jų konvergavimo požymiais, funkcijų eilutėmis, kelių kintamųjų funkcijomis, jų ribomis ir diferencijavimu, pilnuoju diferencialu ir jo taikymu, funkcijos išvestine duotąja kryptimi, gradientu, mažiausių kvadratų metodu, dvilypiais integralais, kompleksiniais skaičiais, jų veiksmais, kompleksinių skaičių eilutėmis, Furje eilutėmis ir diferencialinėmis lygtimis.

Short course annotation in English

This course aims to develop understanding understanding in basic concepts of mathematical analysis. The course includes topics as number  series, indications of their convergence, power series, Maclaurin and Taylor’s series, function of several variables, complex number series, Fourier’s series, first and second order differential equations. Teaching methods are: lectures and practical works.

Prerequisites for entering the course

High school mathematics knowledge.

Course aim

Course aim is toprovide understanding of basic concepts of mathematical analysis.

Content (topics)

1. Infinite series, convergence tests for series.

2. Alternating series.

3. Functional series. Power series, convergence set.

4. Taylor series.

5. Functions of several variables, their limits.

6. Partial derivatives of functions of several variables. Gradient. Extrema of functions of several variables.

7. Double integrals.

8. Complex numbers and their properties.

9. First order differential equations.

10. Second order differential equations.

Distribution of workload for students (contact and independent work hours)

Lectures – 45 hours, practical works – 30 hours,  individual work – 85 hours.

Structure of cumulative score and value of its constituent parts

Final assessment sums the assessments of written final examination (50%), written mid-term examination (25%) and assessment of practical works (25%).
